Time to Degree

Originally developed to help institutions meet the requirements of House Bill 1172 of the 79th Texas Legislature (repealed by the 82nd Legislature, SB 5, effective September 1, 2011), the timely graduation data reports provide time-to-degree information by program, semester credit hours attempted, and semester.

Number of Graduates

Represent baccalaureate recipients who started college in a Texas public institution within 10 years of their graduation date.

Average Semesters Toward Degree

The average number of fall and spring semesters attended by an undergraduate student. Also referred to as "Average Semesters Enrolled."

Average Credits Attempted

The average number of semester credit hours attempted for the fall, spring, and summer semesters by an undergraduate student.

Notes

Out-of-state transfer students and students who took more than 10 years to graduate are excluded from this table. Consequently, the number reported in this table will not match the total number of degrees published elsewhere. In addition, enrollment in summer semesters were not included in the average semesters enrolled. Developmental education semester credit hours and hours earned through Advanced Placement credit or before high school graduation have been excluded.
